ABL R14 – Adelaide Bite v Canberra Cavalry

Round 14 of the 2015/16 Australian Baseball League season features  Adelaide Bite v Canberra Cavalry.

GAME 3: Saturday, 7:30pm (AEDT)

GAME 4: Sunday, 12:30pm (AEDT)

One could be the magic number into the postseason for both the Cavalry and the Bite, as the two teams have a chance to cement their places in the playoffs with wins over the weekend. The two teams will take the field at Norwood Oval for four games, and Canberra lead Adelaide 5-3 in the season head-to-head.

The second-place Cavalry have a three-game lead over the third-place Bite, meaning that they are just one win away from clinching second place. Despite the fact that the club ranks fifth in team ERA, the club saw an outstanding start from young lefty Scott Cone in the series finale last weekend against Sydney. Cone (3-2, 4.93) tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed just one hit for his third win of the season and first career Delta Air Lines Player of the Week award.

However, the Bite enter the final round of the regular season with a good degree of momentum, after eliminating Perth with a 3-1 series win last round, marking the first time the Bite have ever won a series in Perth in club history. Adelaide need to win one game to secure their second consecutive playoff berth.
